The 55th European Marine Biology Symposium, a keystone event in the field of marine biology, will be held at the University of Gdańsk (UG), in Poland. Originally scheduled for August 2020, the event has been postponed to the summer/autumn of 2021. The current date listed above is only a placeholder; the actual dates will be announced once they are confirmed.
The 55th EMBS is proposing cutting edge themes: from the new tools and findings addressing molecular mechanisms of natural processes in the marine environment, to the discoveries of unrecognized and lesser-known traits of the diversity and physiology of marine organisms across levels of biological organization, passing through the hot topics of multiple stressors and the urgent need of a careful management of living resources. In addition to the general session which will cover a wide variety of relevant topics, the symposium will focus on 4 themes:
- Main stressors and their impact on ecosystem health
- Marine molecular ecology – new tools and new findings
- Diversity and physiology of marine organisms. Is there still anything to discover?
- Marine living resources – environmental significance
Registrations and abstract submissions have been temporarily suspended until the new dates are finalised. These will be updated once they are finalised. Interested attendees may follow this link for key dates.
