The activities consist of part of the European COST Action Ocean Governance for Sustainability (CA 15217) a Land-Sea Interactions Training School will be held at Ovidius University of Constanta, Romania. The workshop is aimed at early career researchers, which includes anyone who is pursuing a PhD or has received their PhD within the past 3 years.

The main objectives of this event aim to assess current knowledge on land-sea interactions: social and economic perspectives, as well as policy perspective on required changing governance. Attendees will be able to benefit from a series of lectures and workshop sessions led by a number of trainers who have profound experience in these fields.

This training school will focus on three specific dimensions:

  1. creating a conceptual understanding on the specifics of land-sea interactions;
  2. alternative appropriate policy frameworks and experiences of translating science and theory into policy;
  3. exploring ways to establish new areas of scientific collaboration on investigation of the drivers for environmental, economic and social changes in European coastal areas, addressing methods for estimating their resilience and defining consequences for the society.

Lecturers will enable training school participants to develop a strong theoretical and applied understanding of the land-sea interactions in Europe and elsewhere.
