Movement analysis has developed considerably in recent years, creating new opportunities for research and planning that were explored in the two previous iterations of this workshop in 2015 and 2017. This third edition of the Moving2Gather workshop, taking place at Agrocampus Ouest in Rennes, aims to once again bring together a key mix of ecologists, modelers and numerical analysts in order to review and discuss the latest developments in tools dedicated to movement ecology.
The workshop has been convened by researchers from EuroMarine member organisations Ifremer (Ifremer-EMH) and IRD (IRD-Marbec), along with CEFE, AgroCampus Ouest and the University of Florida.
The workshop organisers plan to:
- Increase the interactions between research networks developing or using statistical tools dedicated to the analysis of trajectories
- Share expertise and draw up a state of art in trajectories modelling
- List the limits of current approaches (models and data acquisition) and future methodological developments required to perform models validation, move from discret to continuous approaches and upscale analyses from individual-based to population-based approaches.
