The aim of this working group is to develop a strategy for EuroMarine to engage with International and European policy initiatives and actors and devise clear methodologies and principles for giving them the required support. This working group will aim to organise and implement a strategy and a mechanism to make EuroMarine known and recognised as a key scientific resource or expertise hub on marine environment and resources for international and European organisations. The hub will be focused on responding to calls of experts, the identification of experts and of important issues that need policy action. This includes the identification of gaps in knowledge and skills and plans to liaise with educational bodies to address these gaps.
It is expected that a strategy for the communication and engagement for EuroMarine will be produced to allow for the recognition of EuroMarine as a key science partner to support marine and environmental policy at International and European levels.
The meeting will be held in Naples on 23 Feb. 2015, back-to-back with EuroMarine 2015 General Assembly.
