Update - Due to the current situation with Covid-19, the SOPHIE Project conference has been cancelled / postponed indefinitely. However, the Strategic Research Agenda on Oceans and Human Health in Europe will still be launched on 30 March via webinar, from 15.00-16.00 CET. The H2020 SOPHIE Project is working towards protecting both human health and the health of the marine environment by nurturing a community of people and organisations interested in the links between oceans and human health. The project will be holding the conference People, Health and the Ocean: the Way Forward at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium, where it plans to:
- Review the evidence for the breadth of ocean and human health challenges
- Present the H2020 SOPHIE Strategic Agenda for Research in Ocean and Human Health
- Expand the community of experts and other interested persons
- Carry forward the research, training and other activities in Ocean and Human Health
The SOPHIE Project is particularly interested in supporting early career researchers (ECRs), and so has announced the availability of a €500 travel grant for PhD and postdoc researchers interested in delivering a 2 minute presentation and a poster session.
