PESC-5 Pan-European stakeholder consultation for IPBES

The 5th Pan-European stakeholder consultation for IPBES (PESC-5) meeting will take place 6th-7th of June in Bern, Switzerland. You can now register online. The meeting includes the official uptake event and celebration of the European & Central Asian (ECA) Regional Assessment on the first morning.

The meeting would be interesting for those that want to contribute to the Global Assessment and also the first ideas for the second work program of IPBES. 

SOLAS Open Science Conference

The Surface Ocean–Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS) is an international and interdisciplinary research project on biogeochemical-physical air-sea interactions and processes. With its Open Science Conference, SOLAS offers the ideal programme for scientists who wish to learn and exchange about cutting edge research in the field and present their own findings.

World Conference on Marine Biodiversity

The World Conference on Marine Biodiversity (WCMB) has become the major focal assembly to share research outcomes, management and policy issues, and discussions on the role of biodiversity in sustaining ocean ecosystems. Arranged on a 3 - 4 year cycle, prior WCMB meetings (Valencia, Spain; Aberdeen, Scotland; Qingdao, China) have each attracted leading specialists from around the world, and catalyzed numerous sidebar sessions on marine biodiversity issues.

Seafood Expo Global 2018

This event, titled "Food From the Oceans, a Look into Our Futures", will take place in the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium. European Commissioner Karmenu Vella will be present, alongside other high-level speakers, to discuss the future of sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, on both an EU and global scale.

European Maritime Day 2018

The 2018 edition of European Maritime Day (EMD) will be hosted in Burgas, Bulgaria. The EMD serves as an annual meeting point for Europe's Maritime Community to discuss ideas, network with potential future partners, and help shape the future of the Aquaculture industry.

European Maritime Day 2018 promises to be a busy and worthwhile event, with over 19 stakeholder workshops planned to take place during the event. There will also be a high-level debate on "Big Bang Black Sea", as well as a plenary session on EU funds for Blue Growth and sea-basin cooperation.
