On behalf of the NE Atlantic Marine Biological Analytical Quality Control (NMBAQC) Committee, SAHFOS is offering the first official zooplankton ring test. The NMBAQC scheme provides a source of external Quality Assurance (QA) for laboratories engaged in the production of marine biological data. This ring test provides the first QA scheme for zooplankton analysis, and aims to improve the quality of zooplankton identification through practical assessment and a workshop.

University of Gothenburg offer funding to support internationalization and scientific renewal at the Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences (the Lovén Centre). The funds have previously been distributed by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA), but from 2015 the University of Gothenburg is handling applications, evaluation and allocation of funds.

Spanish Institute of Oceanography (Instituto Español de Oceanografía IEO) is willing to recruit and host researchers under the funding programme Marie Sklodowska- Curie Individual Fellowship (Call MSCA IF 2016). The objective of this European call is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers. Thirteen expressions of interested supervisors from several IEO Oceanographic Centres are briefly described in the link below in order to get in contact with the potential candidates.
The Integrated Marine Biogeochemistry and Ecosystem Research project is inviting nominations for three new members for its Scientific Steering Committee (SSC). The SSC is responsible for the development, planning and implementation of science with a goal to "Understand, quantify and compare historic and present structure and functioning of linked ocean and human systems, to predict options for securing or transitioning towards ocean sustainability".
Since 2010, the BNP Paribas Foundation has supported climate change research through its Climate Initiative program. The goal is to understand and anticipate the impact of climate change on our environment as well as local populations around the world.
The purpose of this call for projects is to select 4-7 research projects that will help improve our understanding of issues relating to climate change. The projects will receive financial support from the BNP Paribas Foundation for a period of three years (2017-2019).
