Frontiers Journal have issued a call for the submisson of abstracts and manuscripts for a special issue whose research topic relates to the Integrated Marine Biosphere Research (IMBeR) project. This project is an interdisciplinary global environmental change research network with the mission to "Promote integrated marine research and enable capabilities for developing and implementing ocean sustainability options within and across the natural and social sciences, and communicate relevant information and knowledge needed by society to secure sustainable, productive and healthy oceans." 

The research topic is looking for submissions (including perspective and opinion papers, policy briefs, original research articles and reviews) that explore marine ecosystem variability and the relative roles of environment, climate, fishing and trophic dynamics in marine ecosystems and implications for future management.
