The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has announced an open position for a Fishery Officer, reporting to the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) Science Manager. The job will focus on tuna fisheries data, science and stock assessment, and will include capacity building and project management activities.
Candidates must have at a minimum:
- An advanced university degree in fisheries science, biostatistics, biological sciences or a related field;
- Five years of relevant experience in fisheries science, statistics and data management of fisheries or a related field; and
- Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two or Arabic, Chinese, Russian.
