The University of Auckland's Institute of Marine Science (IMS) and School of Biological Science (SBS) invites applications from marine ecologists with a strong computational background to join its team at a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level.

This role supports working collaboratively between IMS and SBS.  It will involve contributing to the undergraduate teaching programmes, supervising postgraduate students, co-developing interdisciplinary marine research projects and attracting research funding to support an active and viable research programme.

Candidates should have a strong background in marine ecological modelling, with an ability to link the physical environment to biological phenomena. This may involve a population, community or ecosystem level focus, with application in marine conservation and ecological science. A PhD and a demonstrated history of research excellence and impact is necessary. Experience in, and a willingness to contribute to, interdisciplinary research is essential. Field experience in marine science including practical experience in diving and skippering small boats is an advantage.
