Newcastle University is currently seeking a suitable candidate for the role of research assistant to help in reserch involving the study of microplastics and plankton. The successful candidate will serve as part of the Marine Biology, Ecosystems and Governance research group within the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, conducting research into the prevalence of microplastics in historic zooplankton samples from the Dove Time Series.
The ideal candidate should possess experience in microplastics research, including isolation and identification of plastic polymers. A PhD will be a significant advantage in the application process. The position is full-time in nature, and will be fixed term until October 2020, with an anticipated start date of 1 December 2018.
