Deadline: August 2, 2020

Ifremer is seeking a researcher in maritime economics to join its Maritime Economy team, located at the Ifremer centre in Brittany (France).

The main themes addressed by the EM team, within the framework of national and international projects, are the economic analysis of the development trajectories of maritime activities, the assessment of their impacts on marine and coastal ecosystems and on the associated ecosystem services, and the analysis of the responses that can be provided by public policies, particularly in terms of institutional and regulatory mechanisms.

The work focuses more particularly on issues related to the management of exploited living marine resources and policies for the protection of the marine environment. The team is facing a growing demand for work on other sectors of the maritime economy, in connection with the development of the blue economy and the implementation of policies for the integrated management of maritime spaces and resources, in particular the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD).

Applicants should have Ph.D./post-doc in industrial economics, macroeconomics or geographical economics with some post-PhD experience in Applied Research.
