The 5th International Marine Connectivity Conference (iMarCo2019) is to be held at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, September 23-25, 2019.

The iMarCo initiative aims to create an international network for promoting collaborative projects among European scientists interested in the study of marine connectivity. The network covers a broad spectrum of marine science disciplines including physical oceanography, microchemistry, genetics and evolutionary ecology, behaviour, tagging, fisheries and aquaculture. The strategic objective of iMarCo is to organise and create synergies among the European scientific community sharing an interest in the understanding of the spatial dynamics of marine populations.

This year's conference will focus on the iMarCo key themes, with a particular focus on multi-disciplinary studies. The keynote presentations will be delivered by Christoper McQuaid, Claire Paris, Stephen Swearer, Pierre-Alexandre Gagnaire and Bruno Ernande.

The conference will also include introductory methodological workshops on the morning of the 25th, and will cover otolith microchemistry and tools for simulating larval dispersal in the marine environment.

Further details on the conference registration and abstract submission deadlines can be found in the links above.
