2020 Call for proposals to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive

The new call for proposals from the European Commission within the framework of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive has been announced.  In 2020, the theme selected for this Call for Proposals is "Support the preparation of the next 6-year cycle of MSFD implementation through the marine strategies". It concerns in particular the articles to be reported in 2024 to the European Commission, i.e. articles 8, 9 and 10 of the DCSMM: 

Public consultations on European Climate Pact and the EU strategy to adapting to climate change

The European Commission is welcoming input from all citizens and organisations for both the EU strategy for adapting to climate change, and also the European Climate Pact which will give citizens and stakeholders from all parts of society a voice and role in designing new climate actions, sharing information, launching grassroots activities and showcasing solutions that others can follow. Questionnaires and more information can be found by following the links below.

EMODnet Biology Call for Data Grants

EMODnet Biology has announced a call for proposals to help increase the amount of data made available and to cover existing geographical, temporal and/or taxonomic data gaps. Successful proposals will receive grants to attend the EMODnet Biology data workshop in 2020, and will also cover the necessary resources for describing and processing the chosen dataset(s), standardising and publishing them in EMODnet Biology. 

Open Call: 2nd MarTERA transnational call for collaborative research projects in maritime and marine technologies

The second MarTERA call is now open.

The consortium of the ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA will launch a second joint call for transnational research and innovation projects on different thematic priority areas.

The transnational call will adress the following areas:

COLUMBUS Blue Society Award for Impactful Knowledge Transfer

This award will highlight best practice examples of successful Knowledge Transfer, specifically those resulting in impactful uptake by end-users contributing to Blue Growth and the implementation of marine and maritime policies such as the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) in harmony with the principle of Blue Society. The Prize will be awarded to examples where research has been transferred to end users and resulted in measurable impact, while supporting the Blue Society vision.
