Deadline Monday 2nd May at 23:59 GMT.

The School of Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol are searching for a PhD candidate in Eddies As Hotspots Of Marine Biogeochemical Extreme Events.

Eddies play a central role in distributing ocean properties, and have recently been shown to be key drivers of extreme events, including producing deep marine heatwaves and being observed to transport very low oxygen conditions within their structure.

The project will suit a candidate with excellent quantitative skills and experience analysing large datasets using computational methods. The ability to demonstrate competence in computer programming or languages such as Python, Matlab, R, is highly desirable. Numerical modelling experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
