HIFMB/AWI and Thünen Institute jointly seek for a Postdoc Biodiversity and Connectivity of Marine Protected Areas. The deadline to apply is  October 31st 2021,  online.

The Postdoc falls in the framework of the third-party funded project 'CREATE - Concepts for Reducing the Effects of Anthropogenic pressures and uses on marine Ecosystems and on Biodiversity' and addresses the research mission of the The German Marine Research Alliance on 'Protection and Sustainable Use of Marine Areas.

Modern molecular genetic methods, in particular metabarcoding of zooplankton and environmental DNA samples, will be analysed.

The Postdoc will lead the cross-disciplinary synthesis of the results within a project group, for which a lively exchange with the work of the project partners will be designed, encompassing genetic as well as biophysical and geological aspects.

The position is based in Bremerhaven.

This is a full-time position, limited to 3 years.
