Ireland’s offshore wind energy potential is what gives Ireland the very real opportunity to have a zero-carbon electricity system by 2035, to become a global leader in the fight against climate change and to achieve, for the first time in our history, true energy independence.

Abstracts

WEI are now inviting high quality abstracts, which address challenges and opportunities in the development of offshore wind energy and associated technologies. Applications are now open for undergraduate and masters level students (i.e., those who have recently completed their final year/masters’ projects or are about to enter final year), with submissions welcome from all disciplines including engineering, economics, social and environmental sciences.

Abstracts should be emailed to WEI, in PDF format using the Call for Abstracts template, no later than 5pm on Wednesday 3rd August 2022. Abstracts are strictly limited to 2 pages including images and references. Further details are included in the Application Guide . Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in August. A total of 8 applicants will be selected for the “Research Thesis in Three” session during the conference and participants will receive complimentary access to the WEI conference*.

*Travel and accommodation costs are not included.
