The 2025 Aquatic Sciences Meeting will take place in Charlotte, NC (USA) from the 26th to the 31st of March 2025.
Human-induced climate change, industrial byproducts, and the environmental pressures of tourism are just some of the challenges to healthy ecosystems. Successful management of these challenges depends upon an understanding of history, current state, and future goals, to move toward a sustainable future that works for all. In addition, connectivity exists through all water systems, and we are connected to those systems. Just as we make time to assess our personal health, it is critical that we do the same for our aquatic environment.
The ASLO 2025 Aquatic Sciences Meeting will be an in-person meeting, beginning on Wednesday with an opening plenary and reception, then concluding on Monday – with the scientific program scheduled from Thursday to Monday.
ASLO invites the proposal of special sessions related to the meeting theme "Taking the Aquatic Pulse" or on other emerging topics in aquatic sciences. There will also be contributed sessions that will cover major themes in limnology and oceanography such as biogeochemistry, microbial ecology, biodiversity, as well as other topics.
Session proposals should ideally highlight the work being done to “take the pulse” and assess the state of our aquatic systems, whether that is through reconstructing the past, observing the current state, or predicting the future of our lakes, rivers, estuaries, and oceans.
Abstract submissions and early registration open on September 9th and close on October 21st.
ASLO offers registration discounts and a number of travel awards to student and early career members.
