About the Role: Explos-Nature is seeking a dedicated Dive Safety Officer to lead diving operations and contribute to maritime activities. Reporting to the General Director, the successful candidate will ensure the safe conduct of scientific and educational dives according to the Canadian Association for Underwater Science (CAUS) standards. This includes overseeing diver training, recruitment, and equipment maintenance while coordinating dive plans for research and outreach purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train dive teams following CAUS scientific diving standards
- Recruit and manage divers while maintaining and acquiring dive equipment
- Develop, plan, and oversee dive operations supporting scientific objectives and educational awareness
- Manage, evaluate, and support scientific service activities
- Plan and execute educational interpretation activities for schools and the public during the off-season
- Assist with sample collection, equipment maintenance, and public engagement activities
