On Thursday 19 September 2024, The European Marine Board (EMB) will host its 42nd Third Thursday Science Webinar featuring Lefteris Sdoukopoulos who will speak on the topic of "Skills intelligence in the Offshore Renewable Energy sector".

In this webinar, Dr Lefteris Sdoukopoulos will present the results of the recently concluded research work on building skills intelligence in the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) sector. He will present the status quo of skills demand and supply in key European markets, as well as the impact that emerging trends are likely to impose on skills development in the short, medium and long-term.
This work was conducted within the framework of the FLORES project, of which EMB is also a partner.
Dr Lefteris Sdoukopoulos is the Head of the Environmental and Energy Impacts of Transport Systems Department at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT), one of the five institutes of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). He is a Transportation Engineer (MEng, MSc) specialising in maritime transport and port research (PhD), investigating also the links and interdependencies that those systems present with several other sectors of the Blue Economy. Over the past 6 years, he has dived into the topic of skills intelligence, devising appropriate relevant methodological frameworks for covering key sectors of the Blue Economy (i.e. ORE and Shipbuilding).
