EuroMarine is pleased to share an early overview of its upcoming 2026 calls for funding, aimed at supporting collaboration, training, mobility and inclusiveness across the network. Full call texts and application details will be published soon.

The 2026 funding scheme will once again support a range of bottom-up activities designed to strengthen marine science cooperation across EuroMarine member organisations.

Summary of the 2026 calls

  • Foresight Workshops – up to €7,000 per proposal EuroMarine expects to fund 4 proposals supporting strategic reflection, interdisciplinary exchange and the development of a scientific publication.
  • EuroMarine Summer School – up to €15,000 per proposal EuroMarine expects to fund 3 proposals for a School on Ocean Transformation, aligned with the UN Ocean Decade, the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”, and the European Ocean Pact.
  • Working Groups – up to €8,000 in total Multiple Working Groups are expected to be funded, focusing either on major ocean policy frameworks or on emerging scientific topics of strategic relevance to EuroMarine.
  • Early Career Researchers Cooperation Projects (OYSTER) – up to €7,000 per proposal OYSTER expects to fund 3 collaborative projects led by Early Career Researchers from EuroMarine member organisations in different countries.
  • Individual Fellowships Programme (OYSTER) – up to €500 per grant EuroMarine expects to fund 24 fellowships to support participation in training courses, workshops, fieldwork and sampling campaigns.
  • Support for family and care needs during travel – up to €300 per grant This call will help reduce practical barriers to in-person participation in EuroMarine-funded or other relevant activities.

Calls are expected to open on 4 May 2026, with exact dates and full eligibility criteria to be confirmed in the official call texts.

Researchers are encouraged to consult the 2026 membership list to confirm eligibility and to contact their organisation’s EuroMarine representative where needed.
