Save the Date | 23-24 February 2027 | Brussels, Belgium

This year, EuroMarine Network goes to Brussels! On 23-24 February 2027, the EuroMarine network will bring together its scientific community, European policymakers and key stakeholders for two days dedicated to marine science, European ocean policy and network collaboration.

For the first time, EuroMarine's annual gathering will take place in the heart of the European Quarter, offering a unique opportunity to strengthen dialogue between marine science and European decision-making at a pivotal moment for the future of Europe's ocean.

23 February 2027 | Science-Policy Day at Norway House

As European ocean policy continues to evolve, the Science–Policy Day will create space for direct exchange between marine researchers, European institutions and policy actors. Discussions will connect scientific evidence with the European Ocean Pact, the forthcoming Ocean Act and wider priorities for Europe’s seas.

The programme will bring together policy perspectives and scientific contributions from across and beyond the EuroMarine community. Sessions will explore issues including climate and ocean interactions, marine biodiversity, habitats and fisheries, ocean observation, and the sustainable use and planning of marine space.

The event will also showcase outcomes from EuroMarine-funded activities over the past decade, highlighting how collaborative marine research can inform current and future ocean policy. A networking reception will close the day and provide further opportunities for participants to connect.

24 February 2027 | EuroMarine General Assembly

The General Assembly will bring together representatives of EuroMarine member organisations to review the Network’s activities, discuss ongoing initiatives and set priorities for the year ahead.

Together, the two days will offer an opportunity to strengthen dialogue across the marine science and policy communities, share knowledge and support collaboration on Europe’s ocean priorities.

Further details on the programme, speakers and participation will be shared in the coming weeks.

Connecting Science and Policy

The Brussels event reflects EuroMarine's long-standing commitment to strengthening the science-policy interface and promoting the role of marine research in addressing societal and environmental challenges.

By bringing together researchers, institutions, policymakers and stakeholders, the 2027 Open Science Day and General Assembly will reinforce EuroMarine's ambition to connect scientific excellence with European ocean policy and strengthen the collective voice of Europe's marine research community.

Mark your calendars for 23-24 February 2027!

Further details on the programme and practical information will be announced in the coming months.

We look forward to welcoming the EuroMarine community to Brussels!
