The Position
EuroMarine is seeking a Project Manager to support the development, coordination, and implementation of its growing portfolio of European and international activities. We are looking for a motivated professional with solid experience in EU-funded projects, a good understanding of the European ocean policy landscape, and ideally demonstrated capacity in fundraising and proposal development.
The successful candidate will work at the interface of marine science, project development, partnership building, and strategic coordination. They will contribute to the management of ongoing projects, support the preparation of new funding opportunities, and help position EuroMarine within key European ocean-related initiatives and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of Euromarine’s project portfolio, with a particular focus on EU-funded projects.
- Identify relevant European and international funding opportunities aligned with Euromarine’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of funded projects, including work planning, internal coordination, reporting, and deliverable follow-up.
- Liaise with project partners, members, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation and effective collaboration.
- Support the preparation of internal strategic documents, concept notes, reports, and partnership materials.
- Assist with the organisation and coordination of meetings, workshops, events, and project-related activities.
- Contribute to the dissemination, communication, and visibility of Euromarine’s projects and initiatives when needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in project management, preferably in the context of EU-funded projects.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as European affairs, environmental sciences, marine sciences, project management, public policy, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, or management of collaborative projects involving multiple partners.
- Good knowledge of the European funding landscape, especially Horizon Europe or other EU funding programmes relevant to marine, environmental, or policy-related activities.
- Strong writing and coordination skills, including the ability to contribute to proposals, reports, and strategic documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (fluency required).
- Good understanding of, and interest in, European ocean priorities and marine policy developments.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholder interactions.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in fundraising, proposal writing, or strategic project development.
- Familiarity with European policy frameworks related to the ocean, marine biodiversity, sustainability, or ocean governance.
- Experience working with research networks, European partnerships, or multi-stakeholder consortia.
- Understanding of dissemination, communication, and stakeholder engagement requirements in EU-funded projects.
- Ability to support both strategic thinking and operational delivery in a small and dynamic team.
- Interest in marine science, ocean policy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Location and Terms
- The position is based in France and offered as a fully remote role.
- Gross annual salary: €32,000 – €36,000, depending on experience and profile.
- Part-time employment (80%) is possible, if desired.
- 1-year contract with possibility of extension.
