We are looking for enthusiastic, engaged and creative Early Career Researchers (ECRs) who are willing to play an important role supporting young scientists in EuroMarine, as well as advocating for marine science and healthy oceans in general.
OYSTER welcomes ECRs from all marine science related fields and backgrounds. Candidates are expected to engage in the different activities carried out by OYSTER throughout the year and to be proactive in developing new activities within the group.
Background
OYSTER (Orienting Young ScienTists of EuroMarine) is EuroMarine’s permanent working group to support young marine researchers, aiming to improve their representation and to create opportunities for their professional development. Keeping a participatory and bottom-up approach, OYSTER is led by a committed group of around 20 ECRs across EuroMarine Member Institutions. More information about OYSTER group can be found here.
Specific objectives:
- Support Early Career Researchers in Marine Sciences, addressing their specific problems
- Engage and empower ECRs, establishing platforms for their representation, career development and networking
- Contribute to their achievements, funding ECR-led research projects, as well as training mobility fellowships, among other initiatives.
