DG MARE are seeking a policy officer supporting the development and implementation of Mission Ocean and waters and Horizon Europe.

  • The Policy Officer will be involved in developing and teering Mission related communication and outreach activities, including the organisation of Mission events.
  • They will be in charge of the coordination of Mission Charter related tasks, with the assistance of the Mission Implementation Platform;
  • They will steer the operational weekly meetings of the Mission Secretariat (DG MARE/DG RTD).
  • They will also contribute to drafting briefings, notes, documents, and analysis relating to the Mission and actively participate to relevant meetings and events.

DG MARE is looking for:

A motivated and dynamic colleague with a high sense of responsibility and excellent planning and organisational skills, with a professional experience relevant to the tasks described above.

An excellent communicator orally and in writing, with outstanding drafting and analytical skills having a good understanding and experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders with a view of developing and implementing communication and outreach initiatives in the Mission related fields.

Relevant experience in the field of marine research and innovation and/or blue economy is required.

She/he would demonstrate capacity to be a good team player, able to work in a collaborative environment with colleagues and external stakeholders. She/he should be capable of working with a high level of autonomy.

A good knowledge of English and French is required.

DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) is responsible for the development and implementation of the Integrated Maritime Policy as well as for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Common Fisheries Policy. The DG has around 360 staff, distributed over 5 Directorates and 22 Units. The wide variety of responsibilities creates an interesting and challenging work environment.
