The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO is seeking a scientific officer to contribute to the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS).

The scientific officer will:

• Support the GOOS Expert Panel on Biology and Ecosystems (BioEco Panel) in achieving the objectives outlined in the GOOS 2030 Strategy;
• Support the successful finalisation of the EuroSea Project in 2023;
• Support the commencement and development of the BioEcoOcean Project in 2024.
• Start of consultancy contract: 1 December 2023.
• End of contract: 31 October 2024 (11 months).
