The Global Ocean Decade Coordination Unit (DCU) is planning to organize two invitation workshops during the upcoming CBD COP16.

Workshop 1: 'Science Policy Dialogue' This Workshop will build on the outcomes of the Vision 2030 process and specifically explore the links between science and knowledge being generated by existing Decade Actions and the needs of States and non-State parties to implement the Kunming Global Biodiversity Framework. It will then identify information on critical remaining gaps that can be used to complement or refine the priorities for Challenge 2 identified through the Vision 2030 process.

Workshop 2: 'Indigenous and local knowledge (ILK) in the Ocean Decade' will convene Indigenous and local knowledge holders and partners working with ILK holders to review the operational framework for ILK in the Ocean Decade and start the process of developing an operational plan and priority actions for its implementation.
